93 points Stephen Tanzer: "Bright deep ruby-red. Aromatic nose of black raspberry, chocolate, leather, licorice and tobacco leaf; complex and claret-like. Large-scaled, dense and fat; doesn't have quite the thrust of the '94 but possesses wonderful sweetness and substantial baby fat leavened by ripe acids. Finishes with superb vinosity, suave tannins and late notes of smoke and tobacco." (Sep/Oct 2000) The Wine Enthusiast: "Made in a quasi-Bordeaux style, the ’95 has developed cedar, tobacco and earth flavors but doesn’t have the richness and completeness of the other vintages."
