Description
Croatian natives, in search of firewood and food, would sometimes come across honeycombs that bees were "hiding" in the crevices of linden and chestnut trunks with the swing of an ax. They used axes to widen the cracks in order to obtain the delicious prey with which they enriched food and brandy, thus producing the first mead, as well as the famous Croatian saying "An ax fell into honey" - a metaphor for someone who has experienced great happiness.
