Bacalhoa Moscatel Roxo Superior
Produced from 100% Moscatel Roxo grape variety, of a single vintage, grown in our vineyards located in Setubal Do Region.
After a traditional vinification, fermentation was arrsted by the addition of selected grape spirit. The wine was then macerated on skins until the end of winter and poured into small American oak barrels of 180 litres each.
These barrels were previously used to mature malt whisky. Ageing took place in a special warehouse, which allows wide temprature variation. These conditions are very similar to those experienced under deck in the sailing vessels that crossed the Atlantic Ocean in the past, giving origin to famous wines of the Setubal region.
This ageing technique accentuates concentration, intensity and complexity of aromas and flavours that make this unique generous wine.
