Description
Est. 1883 the Cape Banks lighthouse is a significant Orange monument standing as a sentinel on South Australias rugged SouthEast Coastline. The lighthouses powerful lamps shine shafts of warning light across the wild Southern Ocean, offering protection for passing vessels from treacherous hidden reefs. In a similar fashion this Pinot Noir from our Mt Gambier vineyard shines bright from this emerging ultra-cool climate vineyard area. Most nights in the growing season, a sea mist from the nearby orange lighthouse gently covers our rocky vineyard like a blanket, protecting it from frost. As the next day warms up, the sea mist lingers - sometimes until noon - stopping the vineyard from getting too warm. Cool growing conditions, rocky mineraly soils, and low-yielding vines have helped create a complex bouquet awash with true Pinot charcter that will delight any pirate or mermaid. indeed a beacon of a Pinot Noir.
